November Case of the Month

The November Case of the Month focuses on tasty Fall weather wines as we settle into our chilly weather changes. There is an excellent mix of new shop selections, as well as some old favorites of ours. The case features wines from all over the world, many of which have a fuller, rich style. Lots of great options to pair with heartier fare or to enjoy on their own. We hope you enjoy the selections!  

The case is complete with (1) sparkling, (3) whites, (1) rose, and (7) reds, all for just $183.

Sparkling

(Oregon) Planet Oregon Sparkling Rose, $21
Grapes: 100% Pinot Noir

Notes: Delicious pink bubbles from Soter Vineyard in the Willamette Valley. Nice rich mouthfeel, balanced with bright red fruit. 

Whites

(Oregon) 2019 Lady Hill WV Pinot Gris, $18
Grapes: 100% Pinot Gris 

Notes: Sustainably farmed local grapes by longtime local vintners. Crisp, tangy pear on the palate, with balanced acidity and nice weight. Classic WV Pinot Gris. 

(California) 2018 Folk Machine' White Light', $15
Grapes: Blend of Tocai Fruilano, Riesling, Verdelho, and Sauvignon Blanc 

Notes: A super unique blend from California. Medium-bodied with generous mouth texture. Soft acidity and balanced minerality. 

(Spain) 2019 Granbazan ‘Etiqueta Verde’, $21 
Grapes: 100% Albarino

Notes: Aromas of fresh flowers, supported by nice flavors of golden apple, white stone fruits and sea salt finish. A great Spanish white!

Roses

(Oregon) 2019 Timothy Malone Columbia Gorge Rose, $13
Grapes: Blend of Grenache and Syrah

Notes: Elegant balance of a round mouthfeel and freshness in the finish, red berries and lemon peel citrus.

Reds

(Italy) 2018 G.D. Vajra Langhe Rosso, $15
Grapes: Blend of Nebbiolo, Dolcetto, and Barbera

Notes: Nice nose of tobacco, plump notes of plums and black cherries, just enough tannic structure. Great Tuesday night pizza wine!

(Italy) 2017 Olianas Perdixi, $28
Grapes: Blend of Bovale, Carignano, and Cannonau

Notes: Mix of black fruits combined with a spiciness reminiscent of licorice and vanilla bean and an elegant balsamic flavor. Excellent acidity, thick and well-blended tannins. This is an outstanding cold weather red!

(Italy) 2018 Francesco Rinaldi & Figli ‘Roussot’, $21
Grapes: 100% Dolcetto

Notes: Founded in 1870 by Francesco Rinaldi upon inheriting property in Barolo, this traditional estate is on par with the area's most fabulous wineries. Medium-bodied, dry. Fresh, fruity, and floral with notes of dark berries and violet. Soft tannins on an earthy finish. Pair with garlic & herb roasted meats, pasta, and Chicken Parm. 

(Spain) 2018 Fusco Ribeira Sacra, $20
Grapes: 100% Mencia

Notes: A fresh and pleasant wine that reveals aromas of red fruit on the nose together with spicy touches, with a fun, unexpected depth of flavor.

(Spain) 2016 L’Heravi Seleccio Montsant, $19
Grapes: Blend of Cariyena and Syrah

Notes: Full-bodied red with rich purple fleshy fruit. Very well structured, with nicely integrated tannins. 

(France) 2019 Les Grandes Vignes Cotes Du Rhone, $19
Grapes: 100% Carignan

Notes: Super cool new arrival to the shop from Southern France. This bottle tastes like straight-up blueberry juice (in a good way). Rare 100% Carignan from this region- very fun wine!

(France) 2019 Domaine Dupeuble Beaujolais, $19
Grapes: 100% Gamay

Notes: What can I say? This wine is Fall in a glass. Elegance, freshness, bright fruit, and utter quaffability. Delicious + versatile medium-bodied French red wine.
